ortland General Store was created by Lisa Brodar. The store was inspired by her love of Maine and all things artisinal, and the idea that peak oil and cheap transportation of imported goods is coming to an end and being replaced by a more local means of trade. Lisa NEVER uses the microwave to heat her products, as the process of microwaving not only removes nutrients, but is also a very "peak oil" concept. She also uses pure, vegan, and organic ingredients when possible.
